According to veteran political reporter Lucy Morgan, two of Jim Greer’s defense attorneys in his criminal trial no longer want to remain on his defense team.
The attorneys, Cheney Mason and Donald Lykkebak, are reportedly going to request to withdraw from the high-profile case, and a judge is set to make a decision on their request Thursday.
The lead defense attorney, Damon Chase is reportedly staying on the case and will see it through trial.
This is an interesting turn of events that begs questions such as…
Do these attorneys feel the defense’s case is a lost cause and don’t want such a high-profile loss on their resume?
Has Jim Greer run out of money or do they otherwise feel they’ll never get any compensation for their legal counsel?
Or have these attorneys chosen to distance themselves from this case solely out of political considerations–to disassociate themselves from the political fallout resulting from the defense unearthing some potentially unsavory information on prominent politicians like Crist?
#justwondering.
