Today the cesspool of leftist sludge that goes by the name of Daily Kos endorsed detestable bigmouth and Florida’s Perpetual Loser Candidate Joe Garcia for Florida’s 26th Congressional District.
This is the same guy that has already run for the same office twice and was smacked nasty style both times, first by Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart in 2008, and most recently by Congressman David Rivera in 2010. Perpetual Loser Candidate Joe seems to think a third time’s the charm.
Perpetual Loser Candidate Joe is a shrill leftist who can best be characterized as a putative Cuban version of Alan Grayson. The Cuban exile community largely despises him and views him as a backstabber who is not only soft on Cuba, but has made a career and a livelihood off the Cuban struggle–with nothing to show for it, other than political and financial self enrichment.
As Executive Director of the once-powerful Cuban-American National Foundation, he steered the lobbying and human rights organization left in favor of dialogue with the Stalinist regime, largely abandoning the hardline stance toward Cuba that the organization’s founder Jorge Mas Canosa instilled. Eventually the organization declined, many of its prominent backers abandoned it, and it is now nothing more than just a “paper club” of sorts with little or no political clout.
He counts the Miami Cuban community’s most unsavory, Castro-friendly leftist pukes among his supporters. For example, one of his staunchest supporters and fundraisers is Democrat Party activist and detestable Castro-sympathizing backstabber Alfredo Duran. This weasel’s claim to fame is that he fought against Castro’s communist hordes in the 1961 Bay of Pigs invasion. After returning to the United States, he remained active in anti-Castro movements, even serving as the president of the Bay of Pigs Veterans Association. But at some point he made an about-face, veered hard left, and advocated dialogue with the illegitimate Stalinist Castro regime. He even went to Cuba and personally visited with the tyrant himself (pictured). In 2010, Duran attended a fundraiser for Perpetual Loser Candidate Joe in the home of Raul Martinez in which Nancy Pelosi was the guest of honor. In all, Duran and his wife personally contributed $3,500 to Perpetual Loser Candidate Joe in 2010.
These are the kinds of putrid characters that Perpetual Loser Candidate Joe Garcia pals around with and counts on for support.
And I haven’t even gotten into the things he favors or has done. There are too many, and it is not necessarily the time to focus on that. What is interesting is that he is not only being endorsed by the ultra-leftist kooks at the Daily Kos, but that he answered each one of their questions not as a moderate, but as a textbook leftist, which is a reputation he has tried to shed in past campaigns in exchange for a more centrist image.
For example, he says he favors a government-run “public option” for healthcare, “card check,” raising taxes on people making over $250,000, amnesty for illegal aliens with a path to citizenship, and–this is my favorite–he pledges NOT to join the so-called “Blue Dog” coalition of allegedly conservative/moderate Democrats.
Essentially, he has vowed to govern like a far leftist if elected.
This won’t sit well with the voters in the moderate district he is running in, so it will be interesting to see how his campaign rhetoric changes if he wins the Democrat Primary in August.
If Perpetual Loser Candidate Joe Garcia wins his party’s nomination, we at Reaganista.com will monitor this race and expose him when he abandons his far leftist tone today for what we know will be a moderate, centrist message in the fall.
